to the Multicultural Centre of Southwest Florida!
Our mission is to promote and embrace diversity in our community, and to support Lee County students of all cultures to start school each year with confidence and pride! Since 1999, we have provided over 50,000 Lee County school age children in need with FREE backpacks and school supplies.
A group of dedicated volunteers on our Event Committee work hard each year to fundraise and organize the The Big Backpack Event, our annual back-to-school backpack and school supply giveaway. It has become one of Lee County's BIGGEST back-to-school outreach programs. Last year an estimated 5,000 people were in attendance, over 2,500 children received backpacks and school supplies, and over 1,500 bags of groceries were given away.

The Multicultural Centre is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization established in Fort Myers with the purpose of promoting programs aimed at bringing people of different cultures together and of culturally linking Southwest Florida with other communities around the world. Contributions are tax deductible under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and can be mailed to P.O. Box 61713 Fort Myers, Florida 33906. |
